Eterra EX-30 Excavator Flail Mower
Description
Introducing the new V2 EX-30 Excavator Flail Mower, built for clearing grass and brush up to 6” along roadsides, ditches, and hard-to-reach areas. Equipped with 20 heavy-duty Y Knife flail blades powered by a Permco Hydraulic Gear Motor, it delivers up to 500 hours of blade life under normal use. Replacement blades and parts are available with your order or later as needed.
A standout feature of the EX-30 is that no case drain is required. With only a one-way flow/breaker setting on your excavator, the mower is ready to work without extra hydraulic lines.
The V2 brings major upgrades: a stronger drive shaft for durability, a reinforced housing for improved rigidity and cutting performance, and a new chain guard for debris control, safety, and efficiency. These refinements raise reliability and extend service life.
It also debuts Eterra’s new rail mounting system, standard across all new excavator products, with adapters available for existing mounts. Stronger and easier to install, it ensures a secure fit for years of use.
This mower is designed for excavators that weigh 7,000-14,000 lbs. with a flow range of 8-26 GPM. If this model doesn’t fit the requirements of your machine, visit the EX-30M model that is rated for 2,200-7,000 lb. machines or the EX-40 model that is rated for 9,000-20,000 lb. machines.
The options thumb saddle add-on is available to purchase for increased versatility.
Note: Every excavator is different. Older models often utilize two pumps: one for stick and rotation control, and another for track drive and auxiliary flow (your mower). For machines that have this type of pump arrangement, it is not possible to drive the machine forward and cut at the same time. However, newer machines like Kubota and select Yanmar models boast three pumps, enabling simultaneous cutting and movement.
